Why do we Facebook and Twitter?

well. facebook and twitter are great ways of staying connected with long time friends form the past and present. i think that is why a lot of people use them.
Everyone is on them because it is an easy and fun way to connect to people you know or maybe you don't know. I use facebook to talk to people I haven't talked to in awhile or just see what people are up to.
We are living in an ever-changing society. Every day the world becomes more and more knowledgeable in technology. It is no surprise to me that more and more people are using Facebook and Twitter everyday. These are tools that are helping the world stay up to tab with the rest of the world. Twitter and Facebook are both one of the fastest and easiest ways to find out what's happening and what is new in all aspects of life.
Well I guess I dont have Twitter or Facebook. Personally I think its a good way to stalk people,which is creepy if you think about it, but also its a great way to keep contact with friends and family! I think people should be more cautious when doing these programs because sometimes people just say random things and its not a good situation but other times its great. So I guess i really am not sure what i think of facebook and twitter you just need to be careful!
I use both facebook and twitter, facebook more often than any other because everyone I know has it and it's easier to keep in touch with them. Twitter is boring and you can't do much with it unlike facebook.
I don't use facebook or twitter. I have a facebook account, but i never get on it. My sister uses it though and she has friends on there from some of the other schools we have gone to so she can stay in touch with them easier.
I think everyone flocks to social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter for a variety of reasons. For a lot of people I think it's just the new go-to communication tool between friends. On Twitter, I'd guess a lot of people just like reading celebrity feeds as it kind of humanizes them. For instance, once of my favorite directors is on Twitter and just had a 24 hour tweet-a-thon where he answered questions from people through @replies. They open up a medium of communication that would not normally be there.
And for the record, I think it definitely reflects negatively on society that Ashton Kutcher has over one million followers.
I use facebook and twitter, but mostly facebook because it has more stuff and it's easier to stay in touch with people I know. I think people use them because it's a trend and it's fun..
I will admit that Twitter had me a little confused at first. However the search feature on Twitter can find you a boat load of information on whatever it is you're looking for. Plus it's a great way to get updates from those you choose to follow. And no annoying games from those on Twitter, like farmville or yoville or whatever they are on facebook, that you have to scroll down to read the next twitter. And I apologize to all those that are huge fans of those games...but it's not what I subscribe to facebook for.
I am on both Facebook and Twitter. I use Facebook more than Twitter because it has more interaction then Twitter. I use Facebook because it's something to keep you busy when you're bored and you can interact with a lot of different people. Such as, if there was a foreign exchange student you became friends with, if they had Facebook you could keep in touch with them.
Facebook and Twitter is a great way to socialize with other people. You can make new friends on facebook. You can keep yourself entertained with the games in facebook.
I think that people use twitter and facebook to see what other people are up to and to stay connected with friends or meet new friends
I believe people use facebook and twitter to stay connected and to communicate with eachother all over the world. Facebook and twitter are entertainment or something to do on the internet. I think they are overrated.
Facebook is a way that we can share photos , information , post blogs , comments , all of that on . Twitter i am not to familiar with but i am pretty sure that it is the same as Facebook . I use myspace more than facebook , but facebook is a way that i stay in contact with my family down in arizona .
I think most people use facebook and twitter to connect with others. The younger generation uses facebook to "keep up" with what is happening in everyone's lives. If you get on facebook, you'll usually find some new drama between a few people which is always fun to read about. As far as twitter, I think people use it to keep up with new events. Some use if for other reasons, but most just like to keep people updated.
Well a lot of people use facebook because, you can find old friends and its also a social website for people to chat. I use facebook to express my self and to express my writing in the "Notes" section. Facebook is a great website if you know how to use it right.
Face book and Twitter are both things people to contact one another if your phone don't work to talk.
People use facebook and twitter mostly I would say as just a fun way to pass the time. People also use facebook to stay connected with friends that they may not live around anymore.
I use Facebook because it's a great way to keep caught up with friends and show others my pictures from different events. I like to see what people are up to, and keep in touch with all my relatives. I've found so many cousins on Facebook. And I know people can stalk and stuff but you decide what you want on your page, and who can see it. So really you don't have anything to worry about. I don't know much about Twitter but it sounds like it's like Facebook, and it's used to connect with friends.
I think that we have Facebook and Twitter as another way to stay in touch with friends and family. Especially if they dont live close. I think its just a way of being social. I LOVE FACEBOOK! :)
I THINKS IT BECAUSE WE LOVE TO COMMUNICATE AND ITS FUN TO BE IN A CIRCLE.AND ITS A GOOD WAY TO KIND OF STAY IN THE CIRCLE WITH YOUR FRIENDS.
I Think that they are just good ways to be social and keep in touch with those around. and i find them to be ways to let the world(kind of in a way) know about you. it's like getting yourself out there and known.
Both of the sites are used to connect people. If you want to stay updated on any information, the sites were created for that. Be it in a beneficial way or ill-intent.
I think that everyone goes to these websites because it is the new way of communicating instead of just calling them. i don't really use twitter but i think people just like to read about celebrities and what is going on with them.
Personally, I use facebook to talk to people and to see what everyone else is doing. I don't use twitter.. never even been to the page. A lot of people use facbeook to connect with old friends or just to keep in touch with current friends. Another cool thing on facebook is all the apps and games on it that keep you occupied and kill some of your time. After all, we are living in a world that is quickly changing course, headed to a time where computers and technology will be doing everything in every aspect of our lives. An example: We are all issued MacBooks for use in school every day. Haha.
I use facebook to keep in touch with friends from germany and friends here in O'Neill. And it's also fun to see what people are doing, to watch their photos and to upload your own ones and to see if anyone comments it.
I really don't get it why people use twitter at all. I think that's something nobody needs. I feel sorry for people who need to follow their favorite stars everywhere.
I have facebook but I dont really use it a lot, I use myspace instead. The reason why most teenagers or even older people use facebook and twitter is so they can stay connected with friends and family that leave miles apart, or another reason is to meet new people that live in your town, or another state or even another country.
I believe people use facebook and twitter to keep up with other peoples activities and happenings. They might also use it to keep in contact with friends and family members. Also its used very widely to help people show whats going on in there lives. I use facebook to see what my friends have been up to and keep in contact with other friends.
