Nobody SAYS, "I Love You Anymore?"

This is an interesting video from ABC news. Watch it and write about your feelings about it. I thought this was appropriate for Valentine's Day!

Well I do believe that people have lost a lot of their romantic side due to text messages. I love it when I get sweet messages, I even save the really sweet ones, but my favorite thing I have received that is romantic was not a sweet text or e-mail but rather a sweet, romantic, well thought of poem from Brett. I asked him if he would make me more but he says that they were sudden inspiration, so that may be another reason why people do not write romantic letters because they no longer have the inspiration.

Um, I really don't think that it is that big of a deal. Everything is turning to technology so it was inevitable that the soppy love letters and poems would be turned into texts and e-mails. As a girl it would be nice to get a hand written letter or a personal I love you, but in today's eyes that is just out of the question. Plus at least if it is in a text or e-mail it will be legible.

i feel that our society has centered around technology so much that we are now using it to show affection for others. its one thing if your apart from each other, maybe by a town or even a state, but if your in the same town and you use texts or emails to tell people how you feel about them that is just relining on technology too much.

I agree with Brett, Love letters are just very dated in our world today. People don't send them because it wastes money, and time. But that kinda is the whole point is it not? Give a few minutes of your day to make it special for someone else.....

Wow it's interesting, cool
The Love letter is used universally in our society life, most of people would sent it to the person that they love, it's kind of sweet text, only 3 words i can say "I like it"

It makes sense that people would just text that they love someone then write them a love letter because texting seems to be such a big part of most people's everyday life anymore. It would be nice to get a love letter or poem, but the truth is that it's just not that likely to get one because like i said people just text most of the time anymore.

I think that texting has taken over and nobody wants to write letters anymore; everyone is too "busy." I like getting texts though so I don't mind that I don't get letters. My grandparents still send us grandkids cards though. Emails and texts are the new technology and everyone has those so it is more convenient.

So I think they are right. We dont say I love you enough anymore. Just sending a text is ok sometimes, but is it just someone being lazy or do they really think it means the same thing? Personally I would rather have a love letter and a rose verses a text and thats it. Think about it guys and girls, are we romantic anymore...? Do we tend to do things that you know people will love or do we do things that are easier and less work for us? I hope you seriously think about this, and ask yourself, "What can I do to have a special Valentine's Day?"

They are right. Nobody says I Love You anymore and actually means it. They either say it to just say it or just for a conversation starter. As a girl it would be really nice if we would get a hand written letter or anything. Technology has really taken over everything and people just think that a text is going to get the message across when sometimes all it says is "I luv u!" and thats it. Personally I agree with the one female in the video guys are romantic anymore they shorthand everything and don't mean what they say!!

Well that's interesting isn't it? It was only a matter of time. Text messaging and email, that's the future of the USPS, except for packages and notices for late payments the mail service is going to be a lost thing in itself eventually, the cost of postage is going up so nobody wants to send letters, especially when email is free.

Love letters are just very dated in our world today. People don't send them because they really have no reason, they can get on MSN messenger, or email and tell their person they love them and they person will get it faster than through mail. I think people are growing out of writing and it's becoming a lost art.

I don't have a lot to say here so this is all.

I would say due to technology, alot of things done face to face between people has become a lost art. I still believe something important as "I Love You" should be said in person. There is no harm in reminding them that you love them through a text, but it should first be said in person. I have nvr been one for "Love" letters on Valentines day, I would say that this is the first year that i have really even done anything for Valentines day.

I dont think i have lost my romantic side to technology... but i would have to ask Kelsey that one... lol

Happy Valentines All

tecnology makes it easier for all people to do things so they don't have to go tell them so the technology gives people a false sense of power because when i play people on xbox live they will get angry and they will try to start fights when they wouldnt in real life

I agree that overall people are not as romantic as they once were, I also feel that with the loss of romance is the loss of chivalry as well. I think the media and the use of e-mail and text messages has catered to much of this loss.

This is a pretty subjective issue. I think it depends on what kind of people one chooses to deal with. I think that people tell each other that they love them More now than before. Even if it's not spoken, through emails and texts, saying "I love you" is very common to stick at the end of a message. I think people still say it too. Technology has simply made it easier to say it more frequently, and in different ways. If a person is a true romantic, they will write letters and send roses. If they are not, then they won't; but I don't think this has to do with technology, just the type of person you are.

Saying I love you during a text is just easier than in person. Saying alot of things through text instead of in person is easier because your not face to face. I think if you are going to say that you love someone, have the courage to say it to there face instead of through a text. Saying it after you say it for the first isn't a big deal. I am just talking about like the first time you say it you should say it to there face instead of through a text.

Well, it doesn't shock me, I already knew that there are a lot of men who aren't romantic. They all think they are when they start being manly and tough, but that's not being romantic, that's just being stupid. I think that we should start writing our feelings to the ones we care about because they would have meaning. But if you just text it, it just says that you don't care enough to say that to my face, you know? I think we have lost our romantic sides and so we all we do to show our love is to send flowers and chocolate, but never say anything. Those are just my thoughts, thanks and have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Well the I love you thing is not that big of a deal weather they write it, text it or tell you. Cause its all the same like they say ..... its the thought that counts!

I don't think anyone has lost their romantic side. It's just that technology has taken over and everything is through emails and text messages. This is just the way everyone communicates today. To us teenagers this is nothing out of the unusual.

Ok, i think the reason people don't write love letters any more is partially because we don't have to these days and also women tell us we don't have to do anything, but some where deep inside they are like i really want a poem. another reason is because we are afraid of what the other person will think deep inside, i mean it is like a piece of art and a piece of are hearts.

Considering technology has somewhat taken over our society, I don't think sending a text message saying "I Love You" has any less meaning than that of a letter. In fact, I don't even remember the last time i wrote or received a letter. It's just one of those things that becomes a part of the past.

I disagree with some people when they say it is not a big deal, it is a very big deal. "I love you" is a strong thing to say and it just can't be said over a text message or email. Technology has made it too easy. I still think love letters are romantic and takes time and thought. Text message are good if you are something that has little importance, but when it comes to telling them "I love you" that should be said face-to-face.

I can see where the people are coming from. Today we live in a fast paced society. Most people today will always take the easy way out on things, instead of going out of their way to take the time to do something. Its just more convienient for the giver to send a text than sit down and write a long love letter.

i agree with jacqueline except for the geting them from brett part lolololololol

I think that we have lost that romantic times with how busy people get now a days. And I have never thought of sending a letter or love note I have always sent a text as well . Its just because everybody is so busy and don't the the time to show there love. I think That I will start to thinking of others instead of me.

Personally i see how anyone could get caught up so much in life that they don't think they need to put in more effort than needed. If it gets the job done then it works, no one tends to do more than they think they have to. I have done a love letter before and it went over GREAT! Yes it took a little extra time and thought but it was worth it :)
Almost everyday people talk to the ones they love and everyone likes to hear the words "I Love You" from those they love. But on those special days you have to do more than normal. Tell them just how much you love them, or how beautiful they are, or how happy you are to be around them. Even if they know it already, they still enjoy hearing it again and being reminded

I think that sending a text message rather than a love letter is more relevant to today's society no body wants to take the time to sit down and write a love letter and then have to drive to the post office to send it out.

I believe that saying I love you is more meaningful than any other way of expressing the words. But when it comes to text, email or letter they are all the same!! you read them all the same. the only argument i would let pass is that you get text everyday , and its not everyday that you get a letter in the mail, unless its a bill which is far from a love letter. but you get my point, when you get an actual letter in the mail you get kinda excited to read it. just my opinion though
