Favorite Movie Growing Up...

For this week I want you to think back to when you were a little kid! What movie did you just love and made your parents watch all of the time! Why did you like this movie so much? As you are making projects this year, the movies you have watched in your past will definitely influence the way you make movies, so it is good to identify what movie styles you like.

So, list some movies you LOVED growing up and a short reason why on each one.

Have a great weekend!

My favorite movie growing up was probably Bring It On. This movie was one that was probably the wrong age group but it was still good.

Well, i think that my favorite movie of all time was "The Adventures of Gilbert Grape" even though i am not sure why. One of my grandparents told me that every time i was with her i would watch that movie over and over again and i only barley remember watching it but i think that main reason why i liked it was because of the personalities of the characters.

Another movie i remember watching all the time was "Matilda" and again i am not quite sure why i liked it so much but maybe because i like the main character Matilda and how she just took care of herself without the help of her biological parents.

My favorite movie growing up was probably the single greatest movie on Earth! The Nightmare Before Christmas! I still love this movie, it's defiantly in my top 10 favorites, maybe even the top 5.

My dad got me the VHS of this movie when I was six years old for Christmas, I thought it looked too little kid-ish for me (being as mature as a 6 year old can be! =P) but I watched the movie and that was it, I was addicted, Jack Skellington was my hero.

I watched the movie about three times the day I got it and then it was time for bed. The next day I watched it a couple more times, this routine staying for about two months and then I got bored with it...I knew the movie and songs in the movie word for word, and I still know almost every song.

Eventually, when I was twelve I found my old VHS when I bored and decided to watch it to relive old memories (good ol' memories they were!). I realized that when I was older I seemed to pick up on more historic illusions and things like that. I watched it a couple of times that year and then it got pushed, once again, to the back of the shelf.

Then when I was sixteen I found it again while cleaning out the movie shelf, it was covered in dust and the title on case was barely visible anymore, I pulled it out of the case and put it into the VHS player and grabbed a blank DVD and made a copy of it (the VHS was on its last leg due to my constant viewing). Now I have a DVD of it and watch it occasionally for it is still one of my favorite movies.

Last summer I watched it a couple of times and downloaded the soundtrack of the movie from iTunes just so I could say I have it, it was kind of a joke at first. The songs from that movie are catchy and I like to listen to them, in fact they are on my iPod right now! I just finished listening to one even =D.

That was really the only movie I really really loved. The Lion King was a close second because of the catchy songs and deeper meaning (I never realized until I was older that it parallels Nazism and Communism, Scar representing a Hitler-type figure and the Hyena's representing Nazi's or Communist soldiers, very oppressive and loyal to the leader).

The Lions in the pride being forced to hunt and gather food for Scar and the Hyenas represented the oppression of the Jewish people in World War 2. That's pretty much the only reason why The Lion King is such a close second, I enjoy historical movies.

That's about all, Nightmare Before Christmas rocks!

My favorite movie growing up was probably the Fox and the Hound. I really liked this movie a lot and I cried every time I watched it. Another movie I watched a lot was the Parent trap, I really don't know why I watched this movie, I really like the song at the beginning.

I would have to say that my favorite movie growing up was The Big Green. It was about small town kids in Texas playing soccer. It was also very funny. I could relate to the movie really well because I was a small town kid who really liked sports.

Well I love Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, that movie is absolutely hilarious and I have memorized nearly every line. I love the movie because it has Jim Carrey and he is an AMAZING actor. That's pretty much it.

Okay this is going to be really embarrassing, but my favorite movie when i was growing up would have to be Pound Puppies. Like i said it is really embarrassing but thats what it was, and it is still a favorite of mine. I watched that over and over again. I still even have it to this day.

My favorite movie growing up was Beauty and the Beast. I would watch it at a minimum four times a day. We had it on VHS of course and now the movie won't even play all the way through without skipping because of the abuse I put it through when I was little. I would also recite lines from this movie.

The Lion King hands down was my childhood obsession, I had it all I even had a Lion King bored game. It has all the qualities of a good movie. Even though the main characters were lions they had very human characteristics, including ambition, fear, and love. I like how even though ambition destroys things everything is okay in the end.

One of my favorite movies growing up was A League of Their Own. Tom Hanks and Geena Davis are very good actor/actresses. One reason I like the movie so much is because I love softball and baseball, and another reason is that it is funny and I love funny movies.

Charlotte's Web(1973 version)

Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland

Godzilla Vs. Megalon

Those are my top 3 favorite movies when I was a child. In that order. I just loved Godzilla when I was a kid, I'm not sure why but he was just so cool!. I had two copies of it but the both got juice spilled on them from my sister. Little Nemo I liked so much because it was so imaginative and I had a very active imagination when I was a child. Charlotte's Web..I have no reason why I liked it so much.. I just loved it

When I was little I really liked the land before time movies, and always wanted to watch them. If i were to create a movie this might influence me to do more shots outside or make it during the summer.

When I got older I really liked ten things I hate about you. It might effect my movie by the type of movie I make. Because ten things I hate about you is a romantic comedy, i might make mine funny.

When I was little, I had alot of favorite movies growing up. I loved watching Rainbow Bright because I liked what she wore and I loved the horse she would ride on and how she kicked the bad guys butts. I also loved watching The Lion King, I always wanted to be Nala, because she was cool. Another one was Beetle Juice, I don't know why for sure, but I did. And that's all I can remember.

My favorite movie growing up was "The Lion King". I remember seeing it in the theater and what I liked most was the sound and the music and how everything seemed so real. The audio enhanced everything and made it a great classic movie!

I am told by my mom that my favorite movie as a kid was Dumbo... however it was too long ago for me to remember why.
Anymore i am not much of a movie watcher... I like things with a lot of action and have a story to them. I dont really have any favorites.

the top movies of my childhood were the karate brothers ( about three kids who learned karate from their uncle), the ninja turtle movies, and the mortal combat movies. By now you can probably tell that martial arts intrigued me as a kid. i attended several martial arts classes, but never really finished any of them.
