What's new in technology?

This week, I want YOU to list something here that involves something that is new in technology recently. It could deal with anything related to technology: cell phones, video games, computers, etc. You just need to summarize what you found and where you obtained the information. DON'T CUT AND PASTE-YOU WON'T RECEIVE CREDIT.

Thanks.

One September 23rd Google announced a new item to their growing list of products...The new Google Phone (or Gphone).

The Gphone has been built and priced to rival the iPhone, granted that probably won't work. Gphone only has one thing over iPhone and that's a retractable keyboard (versus iPhone's on screen touch keyboard). With the added keyboard Gphone gains another rival in the cell phone market. The Blackberry is a phone built for sending text messages quickly.

The Gphone (G1) is the first in a series of Gphone's in the future, the G1 and G2 phones, Google said, are not being built to take down iPhone or any other smart phone but Gphone's internal programming says different.

For everything "Google" on the phone, switch it out for "Apple" and you will pretty much have the iPhone =D.

The Gphone goes on sale next month, will it sell? I have no idea! Do I want one? Probably not, because, just like any other phone on the market for the first time it's bound to have bugs and I will just wait for somebody to hack the phone...the iPhone was pretty buggy until a 13 year old hacked it, they got more security for the phone and cooler features!

But yeah, that's my technology for the week, the Gphone! Next week: The G-Notebook! No probably not but that's int he future, I'm sure of it!...if not then Google will have failed me =( I want a Google laptop, seriously.

I found an "Ultrasonic Tattoo Eraser." It will help to take ink out of the skin easier and not leave so much skin tissue damaged. This machine raises the pressure of the ink and the bubbles burst. It sounds interesting, and they say it's less invasive.

Animals eyes have inspired new technology. Borrowing ideas from different types on animals, artificial vision systems that could be used for high-tech cameras, motion detectors, and navigation systems in unmanned vehicles, or even synthetic retinal implants! www.msnbc.msn.com/id/1007584/

New Technology can be operated by thought. The new technology that they have found is where people who can't operate either one of their legs or their arms can use their thought to get a message to somebody. The BMI(Brain-machine interface) has made all of this possible. They are now thinking that one day people will be able to feed themselves with a robotic arm and this will all be done by their thoughts and not anything else.

Ford motor company has come out with a new car: The 2009 Ford Fiesta ECOnetic.

The new ford car gets an average of 65 miles per gallon, but it runs on diesel fuel. The new car will only be sold in Europe because diesel fuel is not very popular in the U.S. The new cars are 30% more effective then gasoline powered vehicles too!

The Department of Homeland Security has released its new weapon in criminal and terrorist defense. The new bit of technology uses sensors to detect "hostile thoughts" in people crossing into a country. The sensors use skin temperature, pulse rate, and breathing rate that are detected from a distance to determine if you are up to no good. In initial tests the system has been 80% correct to those that have been acting suspicious. It is only in the test stages and has a long way to go before it can be used in real life situations.

In the near future LG will market a cell phone that will detect if you have had to much to drink and are you are fit to drive. The new phones have a built in Breathalyzer, that when you blow into a spot on the phone, if you have had to much to drink a warning will come up and then they can call a taxi. This phone also lets you choose who you want to call on certain days, like if one has had a little too much to drink (blood alcohol level over .08) the phone won't allow you to call those certain people, maybe and ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend.I think this is a great idea, I think that it will protect more drivers and those around them. I got this information from abcnews.com under technology & science. http://abcnews.go.com/technology/story?id=2125709

What I found for this weeks new technology is a new type of cell phone called “BRIX”. This new mobile phone can (with the help of another of its kind) be joined together to fix a bigger screen of different dimensions, or you could use the screen that comes with it. This personal multimedia phone enables you to make conversations over it and with bricks having 1:2 rates a brick imagine your screen when you connect other BRIX together. You cannot only watch your favorite Football games or any game that suits you, you can also watch movies and use it like any regular mobile phone. There is even an informational screen on it to tell you what you’re watching, and the main screen of this phone could be used as a remote control. This phone is even adjustable to fit your needs.

i think that the touch screen cameras are going to be the new thing now. there is a commercial over a camera that when you want to look at the photos you just move your finger to look at them instead of pressing buttons, that is also with the new iphone that is out there. its pretty interesting if you ask me.

Iphones are somewhat new. On an Iphone you can access internet, take pictures on the built in camera, text using the touch screen, and use the portable media player that is equivalent to an ipod. I found my information on Wikipedia.

The Apple iphone 3G is a hot item on the line. This phone offers great features such as e-mail, high speed networks and music/videos. Obviously, our technology is always improving how knows what will come out on the market next.

Technology is amazing. Everyday it seems like there is something new whether it be a cell phone, dvd player, computer, or even a refrigerator with a tv on the front of it. I think in the future there will be no need for laptops or computers because everyone will just use their cell phone or their ipod touch. We will also be able to get in our car and relax because I'm sure they will have "auto pilot". Everyday the future that goes by changes the future a little more

I'm not sure when or if it has come out yet but I know that Apple came out or is coming out with their newest iphone. The new iphone is GPS capable by many different ways. If your outside and can use a GPS satellite it will use that to locate you, if your inside and can be found by wi-fi it will find you that way, and if your not around wi-fi it will use local cell phone towers to help locate you. Yes the iphone does need a GPS chip and have not said what company is providing it. There are rumors about Broadcom would be providing the chip for the new iphone but neither Apple nor Broadcom will confirm it. All I know is in my opinion we are going very far with technology and it's really good for our society!

a muscle fatigue blocker. fatigue happens when your tired, loose energy from exercise or if your sick. This guy named Andrew Marks made a drug that makes it harder for fatigue to kick in. It could make athletes, soldiers ect do hard work activities without getting tired. it would help with people that had diseases where fatigue is a strong suit in it.

a new lithium ion from A123 is out there to make battery charged cars last longer they store 2 times as much energy as a nickel metal hydride battery. GM is testing the batteries and plans to make a vehicle that runs off of them in 2010. A123 says that the batteries themselves will lasts two times longer than a regular car. The batteries charge enough to get you 40 miles but then a small gasoline engine will have to kick in to charge the battery. GM has the vehicles planned price set at $30,000 to $35,000 and they plan to sell 300,000 by 2014. Unlike most batteries it will be able to withstand rough use without catching on fire. The company says it should be able to stand more than 15 years of daily charge. It is small and thin to save room.

The 3G is a new wireless network service that allows you to do literally EVERYTHING with your mobile phone, laptop or palm. It's like a Blackberry, but more advanced. An example of what you can do with this service is hold a video conference while surfing the web, all on the same hand held. You can even pay bills with this service. New York Times. com has a column about new head phones, to replace ear buds. Instead of wedging them in your ears Audio Bones sends your music directly into skull. This may help you when your walking you can hear what is going on around you and other stuff. They also talk about another alternative, which vibrates along with your music, in hopes for a subwofer effect. It sounds like a really awesome technology, the down side is the sound quality and volume, it's muffled.

Everyone knows how magnets can mess up some tech, well, what not everyone knows is that a lot of tech uses magnets to work, especially computers. One main function of a magnet in a computer is in the hard drive to read and write the information on it, but in japan scientist have found that normal magnets use more energy than they need, but we've used them this long cause we didn't have a better alternative....until now!
Now how it works is, normally your computer gives your hard drive power, then it goes to the microchips, then the magnet, then where the information is actually stored, and back again. So what they want to do is remove the magnet completely, this will save power and make some computer parts cheaper!! cheap and easy.
This will also help with the R.A.M.(Random Access Memory) in most high-tech devices, ram is where all your stuff on your device is used, it's like your desk, the bigger your desk is the easier it is to do more work and keep it organized and your hard drive is like your locker. Without the magnet your ram and hard drive run quicker, more quite, and uses less power.
Ahhh......the power of change!

Panasonic recently released a new camcorder that maintains a steady picture, even when you are moving around. This feature is called OIS, optical image stabilization, which moves a lens in the opposite direction of the camera. Panasonic has advanced this feature to a higher standard, which can cancel out movements three times as large, such as riding in a car.

I would have to say cell phones in general because now they made the phones to where you can get on the internet to download things you can check your email.

Anonymous said...

In technology I-phones are very exciting to me and interesting. They have alot of things to do on them including internet usage, planner, email, and pretty much everything you could need brought to you all in one. Although i-phones don't work near us yet they are still very cool. Its so wierd how phones can be touch screen and how everything is upgrading so much. At first i thought the razor was the coolest thing but its now far from it.

I guess for me it would be the Scoop, which i personally own, and the only thing i learned on it was the whole texting gig, and that's about it, I heard of another phone that i seen on tv, but i don't know the name to it and i don't know anything about it except that it plays music like an ipod, but is just a phone.

This is a good one. Last week i was driving to work, listening to the news on the radio. They are inventing a new cell phone that they predict will be sold in japan in the next year or so. Wondering why it'll take so long? The reason is the phone is being made to unlock and START your car! The guy on the radio had kind of a funny joke afterwards, now you won't have to fumble for your keys in your purse, just for your phone!
