It has been a couple of weeks since we have blogged, but I want you to let us know how the 24/7 Learning Initiative is going with your laptops. Talk about the good, the bad and the really bad. You might talk about what you have been using the laptop for, how is has changed what you have done in school, etc. You can also give us suggestions on what we can do better, also.

I like my laptop, but it wouldn't have been my first choice as an apple computer. Only because I haven't used a apple computer before, and didn't really want to relearn everything again. However, I got over it and figured most stuff out myself. I like being able to keep all my homework together on my laptop instead of in notebooks and folders. It helps organization a lot. I'm glad we got the chance to use them.
i like my laptop for the most part!! it has made getting some assignments done easier and faster, however i have realized that it has also caused me to take longer on homework because i tend to mess around with it a lot more...since i dont have to get on our main computer at home, i just get on internet on the laptop.
I really like the format of the apple computers, because some of the functions on it seem to be easier. In school, i have gotten assignments done faster and have printed them in the library and handed them in that day. As for right now i dont know what give for advice for future use.
I use my laptop for everything. I type almost everything on my laptop. I think their good for the students because it kinda gives them more drive to do more homework. It's also good we can make them our own. The bad things are when something goes wrong you have no idea how to fix it. I can say personally i've ran into minor problems but for me it's still scary because you don't wanna break it.
I like using the laptops, I like being able to talk to teachers an people via ichat and i like the fact that our teachers send us assignments sometimes. I especially like that it gives me more to do when i have dead time in class. I overall like the capabilities the laptops give us.
my laptop has been great for a quit of few assignments and just getting stuff found easier and faster. Some things are abused by people, but i think 90% of the people are doing what they should be doing. I chat works for some people, and definitely doesn't for some. I dont know a good solution to people on it all day, but i think it is a good resource.

I really like the new computers because it has helped get assignments done easier and it helped when I needed to create my brit lit project. I would say that the only negative of having the computer is having all of the new features, I want to mess around with them more than work on homework, but overall the computers have been great!

Having the laptops has been very beneficial for my learning. I can now type all my notes in class and also keep all my documents with me at all times. The thing I like about the macs is that you can personalize them the way you want them. Something that I don't like is that the teachers can look at them at all times.
I really don't mind having the new macbooks but I wish that apples were alot easier to run like a laptop with windows installed on it. I like that I have access to the internet at all times and I also like being able to get homework done on them.
I'm not a big fan of apple, but everyone having computers that all hooked up to one network does help. Seems as if it's easier to get organized. To me the apple computers are to inconvenient to use.
The laptop is definitely a good thing! The laptop has helped with quite a few things. I have used the internet quite a few times during class for homework help. Without the internet in class I would have had to take it home and finish it. The laptop helps us figure out things we missed during class, such as if we were sick in the morning than we can ichat someone to see what we need to do in order to keep caught up without going to the teacher. If we do need to contact the teacher, most have ichat too. There are many negatives also. People overuse ichat by just talking to others during class. Another thing is I still feel a little uncomfortable using laptops for some things even though I know I don't do anything bad.
Having the laptops has been a great experience so far! I use it for most of my classes so it's nice having instant access to the internet and software; I usually do homework in my room at home so i like not having to go sit in our office to do homework! I DON'T like pages! Maybe it's because I'm used to word, but that is probably the one program I have to use the most and I think word is better for student use. My favorite part of the laptops are the adobe programs! These are a lot of fun to use and design stuff with! :)
I think the laptops are great. They really help with taking notes and doing assignments much more efficiently than with pencil and paper. It makes organization SO much easier, also because you don't have to carry around ten books, you could just carry one or two.
I like my laptop. The only bad thing is that i don't have internet at home.I don't like that one thing it does when your at school and you sign in and out, it does that syncing thing i think. it takes to long. but i really like the mac books.
I like the laptops! I am so excited that we get to use them. They are really good for organization. It has helped me get assignments done a lot more efficiently!
So far I like my laptop, it makes it a lot easier to get my homework assignments for my classes and to turn them in. So far I've been using it to get my homework done and when I have spare time to talk to some of my friends and check my e-mail.
I love my macbook! I'd say the main thing I don't like about them is the fact that I can't hook it up to the internet at my house (because were old school and have dial-up) and some teachers expect us to be checking the angle website and be doing stuff on the internet while were at home, and its really hard when you cant!!! I do like the fact that were allowed to make it our own, I figured the rules would be a lot more strict! They have made taking notes a lot easier and way more neat. I really think this will help us out when we get to college.
I like my laptop a lot. Its so much easier doing notes and getting assignments done. Although there are a few problems i have ran into like my itunes i like to rent movies and i cant do that because i have to update my itunes and my computer wont let me do that. Also some of my applications are blocked like photoshop and pages is also blocked sometimes. hopefully those things will get fixed sooner or later.
I really love my laptop... it's nice to know that I have the option of doing my homework anywhere. What I don't like is how if you don't have high speed..then you can't use the internet...that doesn't apply to me.. but for those people who can't use the internet at home... that stinks.... But I love my Mac.
I like having my laptop because it helps me keep organized better than before. Its easier to communicate with teachers, especially when your sick. It can be a little distracting but for the most part i tend to get my homework done faster than on paper. Overall i think it is a good idea.
Well personally I don't care much for having the laptops. I just have a problem with the excuse for teachers to give us homework when were not even at school, 24/7 uggg. The first week was bad, i had so much to do, and with the new computers i was even more swamped. In the end though i guess i could use my computer for stuff, like projects and homework.
I love my mac book..It has helped me so much..I am always losing my papers so this helps me stay organized. I love my stickies notes every time I log on I am reminded of the things I have to do that day (my dad loves that..lol)
I really like my laptop it is helping me out a lot with school. i have been using it basically for talking notes. but i am really happy we got the opportunity to get these computers.
I really like the laptops a lot they make it really easy for us to take notes and i get to hear more of what the teacher is saying because I'm done with that slide and i can listen to what they are saying instead of still writing down the notes from the slide. The Angle site is really nice but it would help if all the classes have Angle site because then we can get what we need but most teachers at least the ones that I'm in the class don't have Angle account if Mrs. Mann and Mr. K would have an Angle account that would really help!
Otherwise the Mac's are great I enjoy it a lot.

I really love having my laptop. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't use it! It has become completely addictive and I'm pretty dependent on it. However, I don't use it as much as I did at first. Not saying I don't use it, but just that at first I was PhotoShopping every single picture I had! :) Now I'm out of pictures so I mostly just stick to homework. :-) I can take notes 5 times faster than before. In class I can look something up on the internet and figure out the answer to a question in about two seconds which is..AMAZING. I like iChat, except I don't think it's right that a lot of people have gotten in trouble for using it when they have finished their homework and stuff.
So far I love the 24/7 program. Usually I use my laptop for Flash and Photoshop, basic internet searching...for school and, at home, for relaxation. The good?...we have laptops!...the bad?...I have no idea, so far nothing is bad. One cool thing I have found is in iChat, if I need help with my homework and calling won't work (because it's a visual problem), I can use iChat video chat to show my friend the problem or type out the problem to get his/her help. English is another class this mac has helped a lot in, I was able to type and revise my last assignment in about a week or so, and I wasn't limited to first, second, and fifth periods to work on it!
I have one suggestion, and that's all...we need iTunes radio back!...No, I'm just joking, but it would be nice *wink*...
I find my laptop to be handy sometimes, especially if I miss a day from school, and I need to know my assignments. I'm not really sure if they are beneficial or not....kinda unsure. I see too many people using them for games and stuff which I figured would happen if we got them. They are useful for a lot of people though.
I like my lab top for the most part, but I don't like how you have to carry around your books and you lab top: there is so much stuff.
I use it to work on my homework and take notes, I also use it to do things for my T.A.
I love having a laptop. It allows me to pay better attention in class because I can type notes way faster than I can handwrite them, and I feel like I learn more. I think it is a privilege that is very prone to abuse, however, I think this is easily controlled by teachers, and the fact that certain programs can be blocked and that kind of stuff.
I love the new laptops. Taking notes is now the easiest it has ever been. I really like the new iChat feature, and like to think that i don't abuse it. I'm there are people that do such a thing though. I really hope it doesn't come down to having to get rid of the feature all together. People just need to know when it is appropriate to use it.
I Like it a lot! It saves a lot of time being able to just work on stuff at home and save it to the computer and not have to transfer anything over. One of the complaints i would have would be the some of the teachers watching everything and a lot of the time bothering you or butting in when i had permission to be doing what i was doing but i guess thats there job.
i like having the laptop because it is easier to do things like take notes and be more organized, but their is still problems i am having with the it but overall it is nice to have

i like my laptop because i can take it home and i wouldn't have to leave it at school and i would be able to take it with me wherever i go so i think that it was a good idea that we got these macs and it a good thing
I really enjoy having a laptop and I'm glad we got macs. However I don't like how the word application was completely blocked because sometimes I download files off of myelearning and it is set up as a word file. I really like i-chat!
As a past educator in O'Neill and moving to Iowa, it appears that the staff at OHS have continued to raise the expectations of the students and also equip them with the tools necessary for the 21st century.
I'd have to say i enjoy my new laptop. It's pretty useful when you need to take notes or look something up really quick. Most of the things on the computer I had to learn how to use on my own so I'm still a little rusty on one. But the coolest thing about them is getting to take them home to do your homework on it makes things a lot easier.
i'd love to have a laptop but because i'm a sophomore i can't get one. but i think it's a great idea. and we would never have this kind of thing in austria!!
but i can use pauline's laptop (which is very nice!!) and i just LOVE IT!
i like my laptop!!! sometimes i get confused on some programs and the exporting stuff... other than that i love it...although some kids hate that we are being watch.. it is kinda a good thing because there are alot of things that you can do with a computer not all of them good..... i love the mac form.... and all the programs

Hi, I would like to say that these computers kind of suck. I mean I can't really do anything on it, nothing is private, not even out of school, nothing works the way I want it to or the way it is suppose to work. I have my own laptop because i just got it and I have privacy on it so i like it better. If i had a little privacy, i would like it more. I guess I can say it is alright, I'm just not that excited to have it.
I like the laptops so far, they do help speed things up as far as taking notes and doing projects. Its really nice when you need to look something up or research something, you have those resources right there. I like being able to sort everything by class.
not sure if i blogged on this one so here i am ...i dont even think i could live without my computer now...alot of assignment i do are now online or drop boxed this helps me on being organized too!
